DAILY PROGRAMME

     The children are cared for by volunteers during the weekdays between 8.45am and 4.15pm. which enables working parents to host without disrupting working life.
     Meeting points are at the Stanley Club, Burscough, or by the Rugby Club in Green Lane, Ormskirk.
     They visit many places of interest and activity, including the swimming baths, theme parks, wild life centres, schools, youth centres, Pleasure & adventure parks etc.

Wanted - loan of
17 SEATER MINI-BUS

  • Formed In late 1993, following a public appeal from the charity Medicine & Chernobyl. An inaugural meeting was held in the local Priory High School at Burscough, attended by a small group of interested and sympathetic local people. 
  • Each year since 1994, 12 different children, mostly from Osipovichi No.2 School, with one of their teachers, have spent four weeks in and around Burscough and Ormskirk.  By the  summer of 2004 we have entertained 132 different children from Belarus.
  • Different children and interpreters are invited each official visit but there is nothing to stop host families inviting the same children at a different time at their own expense.
  • We have also been able to sponsor disabled children to visit with another group and to assist in overseas medical and humanitarian aid to Belarus.
